Preventing Global Warming is the single most important task ever to face humanity. This is a short, powerful and must see film by Leo Murray. Watch it, pass it on then start being the change that needs to happen. We all know what we can do. Get educated - watch ‘The age of stupid’ an important film that will hopefully help spread the word around the world. Check out the website www.ageofstupid.net or www.notstupid.org Stop flying - not only does it produce huge amounts of CO2 it puts that CO2 right in the atmosphere where is does the damage. Get rid of those poluting cars - why drive a massive 4×4 when a Toyota Purius will do the job just a well. Is your penis really that small? Cut back on meat (or even go vege) - It could save over 70% of the Amazonian rainforest from clearance for animal grazing. Would Free up 3,433 million hectares of land annually and up 760 million tons of grain every year (half the world’s grain supply). Saves 4.5 tons of emissions per US household per year. Much of the food given to animals is made up of Soya bean. Most of the worlds soya is grown on what used to be rainforest land in the Amazon. Soya used in food products can sometimes come from the same place. Buy with caution Avoid food and products with Palm oil in (everything from crisps and pre-made sauces to soap and candles!). I’ve seen the vast vast areas of what used to be rainforest in Indonesia now all just Palm Oil plantations. Dont buy hard woods from rainforest countries. You see a Mahogony table from somewhere in South America - its almost certainly from the Rainforest (even if it does have an FSC logo on it)
Shout about what you have learnt. The more voices the better and don’t be put of by the arsehole who will just laugh it off and call you a tree hugger. If we aren’t the ones who save the world then there won’t be anyone else who can!
A photographer friend was at a scene of a bus crash. The PCSO tried to stop the photographer taking photos. The photographer refused and continued to do his job whilst making sure he did not cross the cordon or get in anyones way (all injured people had left the scene) After an arguement with the PCSO the PCSO decided to ‘issue’ a section 44. The section 44 ’s are designed to disrupt terrorists and people with cameras are often targeted. They involve taking down that persons general details (name, address etc..) and reasons for being there.
Unfortunately the conversation was recorded on a phone so the sound isn’t great but I have tried to boost it where possible. I have made 1 cut in the audio because not much happened. I tried to make that cut fairly obvious….
Below is the link to an article on the Guardian Newspapers website about the lack of privacy you may now have if you download a Google application onto your phone…
A good article well worth a read for everyone as we all have mobiles and this is the way it is probably gonna go.
Today we are making a little comment on the current Police State we are living in.
Our rights are being gradually erroded away and while some people are trying to fight back the majority of the country is preoccupied by their huge TV’s and Xboxes. Before they know it we won’t be able to take photos in public without being questioned, protest against the government without applying for official approvial, walk down the street without being filmed or photograph policemen without the threat of arrest……
Well that day is here and today we are calling on the protesters of brighton to help comment on this Police State.
Hopefully if it all goes to plan and we are not arrested after the first picture we should have a little multimedia piece to show for our day out
